DEJECTED by Young Boss

Though we're nobody, dejected, and rejected,
Yet we're thankful and optimistic of a brighter tomorrow.

Our families and friends left us because we're nobody,
We're seen everywhere you go like the cloud in the sky,
Living our lives like the chameleon on the streets.

We became part of you and you became part of   us like the air you breathe.
We're never tired or remorseful of living.
Each day becomes a blessing unto us,even though our bellies are empty and we have no means of survival,
Yet we're optimistic.

The rich sees us and  looked down on us like we're not of God, but we never lose hope,
Even though they live in mansions, we're sleeping in our comforts under our tents and road sides.
They change clothes like chameleon, we're satisfied with our  rag-like clothes.
They're seen in their exotic cars as big
as an  aged python, we're satisfied trekking on foots even with nothing on.

They're the rulers looting our treasuries, forgetting it's our birth right,
They keep expanding their tents through our existence.

We may be nobody and dejected, but we have an assurance of a better tomorrow,
Where we shall all be equal and share in the splendour of our coming king.

FOUND by Mojeed Adesewa Peace (MAP)

She stood helplessly;
Thinking all alone,
Have I lost it?
Or have not?
How did I place it?
Carelessly or with utmost care?
Mother ,
Mother,
Would I ever get it back?
If only I had listened to them,
I wouldn’t have misplaced it.
Am I all alone?
No, am not giving up,
Am keeping up with the search.
FINALLY;
The greatest secret,
Secret to success,
Is FOUND.

Within my heart by Young Boss

What a blissful moment!
We met and my whole world trebles before her,
It was indeed a momentary experience.
She came into my life and turn things around in a twinkle of an eye.

I've seen and I've heard of love at first sight,
But I never believed until across this charming damsel,
She's too beautiful to be resisted,
So I became restless
And my entire body system danced to her tune like the clay in the hand of the potter.
Her touch was magical to my marrow and spine,
As I looked on this beautiful dazzling angel and the sensation I received from her touch,
My spirit jump out of me and turns to her companion like the darling pillow which never leaves one even in your time of distress and happiness.

We lived happily together like the cloud and the sky,
With our love being renewed as we share moments and experiences together,
She became my favorite and I became hers too.
With So much love and care, years unfolds and our love warps stronger too.

Suddenly the enemy of good thing came in,
Then things started going out of hand,
Due to our negligence and life issues.

She woke up on a Monday morning and said it's over.
Though she left, but her love lives within my heart forever.

FAILING MY PERFECTIONS by Young Boss

All my life I've worked towards perfection,
To see you in your majesty.

None is like you oh lord,
you're so rich in glory.

So rich in honour,
And unto you I worship.

In you alone I'm made perfect, without you lord I'm like filthy rags. Take this praise oh lord, my redeemer.

You will come By Favour

Chains be broken
Lives be healed
Eyes be opened
Christ is revealed

I have decided
I have resolved
To wait upon You, Lord

My rock and redeemer
Shield and reward
I'll wait upon You, Lord

As surely as the sun will rise
You'll come to us
Certain as the dawn appears

You'll come
Let Your glory fall as You respond to us
Spirit rain
Flood into our thirsty hearts again
You'll come, You'll come

We are not shaken
We are not moved
We wait upon You, Lord

Mighty deliverer
Triumph and truth
We wait upon You, Lord

As surely as the sun will rise
You'll come to us
Certain as Your word endures

You'll come
Let Your glory fall as You respond to us
Spirit rain
Flood into our thirsty hearts again
You'll come, You'll come

Chains be broken
Lives be healed
Eyes be opened
Christ is revealed

QUESTIONS FOR MAAMI by Moyomade Winnie

Maami,
Akanji dropped by today
On his way to the farm
To tell me that he loves me
Maami, I am very scared
For you have told me to be careful
Because a union with a male is for life

Maami
Akanji saw me today by the stream
When I was filling my pot
With Ojuolape and Ajike
He sang songs of Solomon to my ears
And I listened pleasantly
Maami, I am scared
For you have told me to be careful
Because a union with a male is for life

Maami
Can you help me to convince Baami?
That I don't want to marry Odejimi
Even though he brings us meat everyday
Maami,
It seems as if I am falling
Falling in love with Akanji.

Maami
I asked him today
If he will love me forever
And he said it is till death do us part
I asked him if he will accept my past
And he said my tales are for him to bear
Maami, should I forge ahead?

Maami
I don't want anyone but Akanji
Maami, please teach me
How to please my husband
When I get married.

Maami,
Thank you for your love and care
Today is a day of joy
The day I will finally get to live with Akanji
To prepare for a new life with him
Our new family

Maami
I am scared
I didn't tell Akanji before
And he will find out tonight
The evil deeds of Ajao
Maami, what is going to happen now?
When the whole world
Is expecting that white kerchief?
         *sighs*
Maami, I have to go now
The groom is waiting.

A FASCINATING Nigeria by Young Boss

My country, my home, my heritage. No place like home...

I've travelled far and wide, I've seen countries So great and small, blessed with Good government, even  termed the best and strongest among nations of the world . They're still Nothing to be compared to my country.
A country So rich in mineral resources, fertile land, a nation who practice one of the world best system of government  (Democracy),
It  sees, recognise and respect  the masses, through their opinions on  government policies,  and create platforms through which their voices can be heard by the government.

A nation blessed with scholars, people of great potentials in various levels both in their country and overseas..
No any other place like my home, my country..
God bless my country, God bless Nigeria!!

THE POWER OF MUSIC by Olatayo

Oh Music, oh Music
How much I love you

Oh Music, oh Music
You were there when
there was no one.

Oh Music, oh Music
You are the only voice I listen to.

Oh Music, oh Music
When mama does not even understand my feelings;
When she keeps on scolding me as if I'm
a little child.

Oh Music, oh Music
When I don't even know my mood
You are the only voice I listen to.

Oh Music, oh Music
When mama keeps ringing it to my ears to avoid boys,
When she keeps on telling me to love God
but she does not understand my feelings.

Oh Music, oh Music
You are the only voice I listen to.
When papa shouts on me
and denies me of things for
failing exams.

Oh Music, oh Music
You've always been there for me
When friends neglect me
because I'm a dullard
thinking nothing good can come out of me.

Oh Music, oh Music
You've always been there for me.
When siblings think
both mum and dad do not like her and ignore her.

Oh Music, oh Music
Your voice is a charming one
Lifting souls from the state
Of hopelessness, depression and anxiety.

Oh Music, oh Music
You've always been there with me in my lonely hut.

Oh Music, Oh Music
How much I love to hear
your sweet voice.
When no one knows what
Is running through my heart
You know the unknowns.

Oh Music, oh Music
You've always been there for me.
I would love you to the end.

Oh Music, oh Music
The unseen has always been there
Oh Music, oh Music.

My Persistence By Marvey

Tears is a constant companion
Pain a constant visitor
Heartache is a constant reminder
never to walk that lane again,
But still I run down the lane,
Courageously,bold like a lion,
Though scared like a mouse
Like a man putting his hand to the plough
happy initially
Scared, but still happy and at peace

How it all comes back to pain and tears,
Is still a mystery
A mystery I can't  understand
A mystery I can't  solve
It's like a circle of same story
Different experiences
Different faces
But same story
Same story that ends in same tears bitter Regrets and loud ache
But that doesn't stop me

Courageously again i run, run like the lightening bolt
Down that same lane
Yes! that lane of tears and pain
Marching for a different story
But even if in the end i get the same story
Same story different experience
I dont give up
No I  won't give up
Because that's what life's all about
Laying your heart down only to be trampled upon
By the same story but different experience
same story!
same story !
different experience.

THE BEST REVENGE By Dimeji

I think Success ain't no Revenge because, the more successful you become, the more enemies you have(even if you don't offend them). And the more enemies you have the more the offences/attacks targeted at you(you obviously can't endure continuous attacks from different angles).

So the best revenge to me is to forgive leave them alone/act like it never happened. It is a psychological and not a physical move then they expect you to attack (so they are ready for you and they counter and defeat you) but you don't. thereby focusing on success.

They will forever be in your favour (which is another form of success) and you still have a good life filled with riches and happiness and devoid of worries.

Money By Frizzy

What is money?
It is a stack of bills
That makes a man act funny
It is what makes ur friends leave
When u hoped they'd help u live

When life makes u mad enough to kill
Nd u want something bad enough to steal
Jes remember that u can stay still
As long as u wish to bring peace

Do not consider what money can do
But rather what money can't do
It cannot undo ur evil deeds
So don't do bad things
For money might as well do nothing

An attempt at poetry By Moyomade Winnie

Daylong I sat
Scribbling and scribbling
Nightlong I sat
Writing and writing
An attempt at poetry.

I wished to give it up
But I am not allowed
I wrote till it filled the cup
With my mind bowed
An attempt at poetry.

My writing became scrawny
Like a fowl's prints
My books became skinny
Like an ill child's sprints
An attempt at poetry.

I was locked in my dreams
Like a spider entangled in its web
I was docked in my dreams
Like an ant in a web
An attempt at poetry.

This is a talent
Like one I never had before
This is an equivalent
To the ones I have missed before
An attempt at poetry.

Oh God!
Tell me what to do
Oh lord!
Master of all creations
An attempt at poetry.

I have seen myself
Scribbling and scribbling
Till the end of time
Till the nibs of the pens break
Till grey hairs adorn my head
And age flies like an eagle
I have seen myself
Writing and writing.

Lagos By Bin Zak

LAGOS

Oh Lagos!
The dog that cannot
For a second refuse
The bones of bedlam

Oh Lagos!
An enclave where fowls
Chew uncracked pebbles
With enchanting crackles

Oh Lagos!
The lissom lioness that
Mothers a masked calf
And baths it with
A cistern of blood

Oh Lagos!
The giant who lives on a hill
And for no single reason
Should be hidden

Oh Lagos!
Great, you're amongst our states
For, far-far from your womb
Pundits have descend'd

Oh Lagos!
The comfiest home of and
For Industralisation
More ginormous than numbers of grit

Oh Lagos!
The municipality
That is girdled with the idle
Who for heaven's sake
Feign to be traders

Oh Lagos!
The haven that is abreast of Heaven
Owned by none
But dense with All

Oh Lagos!
The school of fishes
And priceless leaking lakes
And an abode of Obas

Oh Lagos!
The site of excellence
Answer my cawing callings!
So I can curve like a millet leave
In genuflecting to you

ANGLOMOZ IS HUNGRY By Disu the Great

With mouths agape,I gazed endlessly at the flacid tummy of the beauty
Eyes were wide open and even the running wind couldn't shut the door of my eyes
She has shrunk in size and emaciation has set in,
Alas! All her wards have deserted her..

Never in my life have I seen anglomoz so hungry!
I tried to be generous by feeding you with few couples
But you are like jumbo the elephant, only thousands of couple can make u smile

I went to moremi, alumni and akintola to get ladies to fill your shrunk intestines
But I couldn't source enough males to help you digest the beauties at your reach.
Well! I couldn't help you anymore and its the reason am announcing your plight
to Great ife students!!

ANGLOMOZ IS HUNGRY!!!!

Time by Ewaoluwa

_Once upon a little city_
_Was a man and pretty wifey_
_Happy, with a swollen belly_
_A little one they were expecting_

_Then one night it started kicking_
_Next came screams of pain and shrieking_
_A hasty trip had to be taken_
_To the ward of maternity_

_Though the room was pale and silky_
_Filled with the stench of antiseptic_
_Much was at stake to take notice_
_Pretty wifey was bedridden_

_Tick tock the clock was ticking_
_With Everyone anticipating_
_Atmosphere tense the man was pacing_
_It almost seemed everlasting_

_But alas! A final pushing_
_And the little one was given_
_Sweet melody, the child's wailing_
_Happy tears, the couple shedding_

_On the eight day was the naming_
_Admist presents and rejoicing_
_The child was named grace and beauty_
_Some even said she was pretty_

_Day by day the child was growing_
_And when of age she started schooling_
_Though she played and preferred sleeping_
_She actually enjoyed learning_

_As she went through life in phases_
_She had a share of challenges_
_Suddenly she became goal driven_
_Many eyes were fixed and prying_

_Will she conquer Mathematics?_
_Will she break a thousand boundaries?_
_Will she cry out in victory?_
_Or just lie there introverting?_

_Hearing this, a nail was driven_
_And she even seemed to stiffen_
_But while they were speculating_
_She was busy calculating_

_Burning midnight candles till morning_
_Goals were achieved - God given_
_And with time they were forgiven_
_Cause what mattered was Thanksgiving_

_Now a new phase is beginning_
_Though a little scared she's seeming_
_She knows there's no harm in trying_
_This is only the beginning_

LAMENTATIONS OF A Mother by Moyomade Winnie

My dear,
Please, look into my eyes
Have you seen my child anywhere?
I want to see him everywhere.

The last time I saw him,
He was such a cute kid
With dark and short hair
He had lovely lips
And jewels were in his eyes

He used to scatter his books around
And he throws his clothes everywhere
He always looked so neat in his uniform
But, he looked so dirty when he came back from school
He loved soccer.

Have you been seeing him?
I heard he is now a grown up man
Too hurt by his mum than to look after her
I heard he now has a wife
And he has kids too
Do you know them?

He used to feel so unhappy
Because mummy didn't like boys
And I know that he used to feel so lost
Because mummy's hate for him has no cost
He used to keep late nights
Because mummy made him stay out.
Oh! My little boy.

I have missed him so much
He just doesn't understand
That mummy loved him so much
And mummy is sincerely sorry
For putting him through that pain
And traumas unknown
Throughout his teenage years

Promise me he will come back to me
I want to see him again
And trace the lines on his face
With trembling hands
While his kids receive my blessings
And his wife embraces me warmly
I want to see him play soccer again
Promise me he will come home
Because Mummy loves him.

ADUNNI by Moyomade Winnie

Hear me, Awero
Grandmother of our damsel Adunni
Listen Abeni!
Grandmother of the young lad Adio
You failed to teach him
The customs
Of our ancestors Ayeni and Aremu.

Now, he brings death
And loom hovers above our heads
Adio has brought us shame
Esu has used Adio

Adio has broken
The gates of a virgin
As a siren blows,
So also her wails pierce the air
Adunni has become a laughingstock
While Abeke lies on the deathbed.

I still remember those days
When Ajani our father
Drinks wine from his cup
And lies outstretched on his chair
And tells Adunni
Adunni! Sing the ballads of our ancestors
Be a light to Alake and Areo

Adunni used to be our sister
Now, Adunni is gone.
The loose gallows swallowed her spirit
The ballads have been turned to dirges.

Adio, where are you?
The dead will not rest
Until justice has been delivered
The spirit of our Adunni
Still lurks around.

In the shadows of the future,
A future without our bright lampshade
Your generation shall suffer ; Adio
They shall be without light.

Adio! Alake and Areo shall bring back justice
Justice to the one who killed their sister
Abeke will bring back justice
Justice to the one who killed her daughter
Then you shall become a laughingstock
And your brain shall be free
Your brain will fly like a bird
You shall talk alone in your farm
And eat with the spirits
Deserted shall your home be
And of course,
Death will be your end.
           Adunni, goodbye.
